True Textiles is far and away the largest provider of panel fabrics to the world’s office furniture industry. As Guilford of Maine, we were the first mill to dedicate our production to this market when panel systems emerged in the 1970s – developing the industry’s standard panel fabric FR701® that remains a best-seller to this day.

As the contract furniture industry exploded and became much more competitive in the past several decades, True has kept pace by offering an ever-expanding selection of fabric types and designs. Today, we are a vertically integrated mill that can do everything from manufacture our own yarn to distribute our own products. This allows us to drive industry-leading economies while offering more value added services such as in-house back-coating and custom cutting that give our customers further competitive advantages.

Finally, True leads the way in developing new fabrics that help us all pursue a more sustainable future. Our Terratex® fabrics were the industry’s first made from 100% recycled as well as recyclable materials, and they are now the most popular eco-conscious panel fabrics by a wide margin. Most recently, True innovated the first bio-based fabrics for this market made from renewable resources such as corn instead of polyester.
